WVU new arrivals still can't take field

MORGANTOWN, W.Va — Even as the 103 healthy bodies on West Virginia’s roster took part in the team’s first practice of preseason camp Monday at Milan Puskar Stadium, there were some notable absences as the Mountaineers began their preparation for the 2015 season.

Freshman wide receiver Jovon Durante and junior cornerback Rasul Douglas, a junior-college transfer, have not been cleared yet to play, coach Dana Holgorsen announced. The two four-star recruits is in its first season with the program.

“We anticipate they will be able to play very soon,” Holgorsen said. “[Freshman cornerback] Tyrek [Cole] is here, but Jovon and Rasul are working some things out.
