MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia outside linebackers coach Al Pogue, whose infectious enthusiasm on the practice field made him one of the most popular coaches on Neal Brown’s staff, is leaving the program for a position at Auburn.
A West Virginia program source confirmed that Pogue is leaving the Mountaineers for the Tigers.
It’s a homecoming for Pogue, who is a native of Mobile, Ala. Pogue served as Brown’s cornerbacks coach at Troy from 2016-18.
Prior to his time at Troy, Pogue spent three years in a variety of capacities at Auburn — offensive quality control (2011), special teams quality control (2012) and director of high school relations (2013).
