Pittsburgh, Pa. – The West Virginia University women’s tennis team opened the duals season on Saturday with a 6-1 setback at Pitt in the 36th edition of the Backyard Brawl.
“Today, we didn’t have the outcome that we wanted and there are a lot of individual corrections that we can learn from in order to play better tomorrow,” fourth-year coach Miha Lisac said. “However, when we evaluate the team’s performance today, I am happy with the way that we competed in the match. If we have that and if we can sustain that throughout the season we will be alright as a team.
