MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Four Mountaineers eclipsed double-figures with Tynice Martin’s 21 points leading the way in the No. 19/23-ranked West Virginia University women’s basketball team’s 82-59 victory over High Point on Sunday at the WVU Coliseum.
A high-scoring first quarter saw the Mountaineers hold a slight 28-22 edge. The team built its halftime advantage to 45-31. West Virginia led the entire game and stretched its lead to 25 points in the fourth quarter. WVU improved to 7-0, the program’s best start since the 2010-11 season, and extended its program-record nonconference win streak at the WVU Coliseum to 28.
