When the West Virginia Mountaineers take on the Florida State Seminoles in the 2020 Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic, it could feature a former Oklahoma Sooners head coach. Bob Stoops, who won a national championship at Oklahoma, is rumored to be the next head coach of the Seminoles, taking over for fired head coach Willie Taggert. Stoops is likely to retain offensive coordinator Kendall Briles, son of former head coach at Baylor, Art Briles.
Stoops, who retired three years ago from Oklahoma, had a history of winning at the storied Norman football factory. Stoops was hired from the Florida Gators in 1999 to become the head coach at Oklahoma, where he amassed a 190-48 overall record, including 121-29 record in conference.
