For the first time in WVU baseball history, the Mountaineers played and won a game at PNC Park in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
The win came at the hands of the Penn State Nittany Lions, who had upset West Virginia (28-20) on Tuesday in Morgantown.
Wednesday’s game was all Mountaineers. West Virginia scored runs in the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings to stay ahead of the curve against the Nittany Lions (15-33).
Braden Zarbnisky impressed the fans in the North Shore with his heroics behind the plate and on the mound. He had four at-bats, recording one hit, one RBI and scoring one run.
