West Virginia figured the best way to finish second in the No. 1 basketball conference in America was to take matters into its own hands.
The Mountaineers needed Oklahoma to lose to either Baylor or TCU this week in order to finish second, neither happened, so West Virginia ran Texas Tech out of the Coliseum on Wednesday night, and then today, they nearly ran 19th-ranked Baylor out of its own gym on Senior Day.
WVU got its usual 14 points off the bench from senior Jaysean Paige and 11 more from super-sub Tarik Phillip to defeat the Bears 69-58.
