WVU basketball gets by Baylor

As the Mountaineers found their footing, they ran away in the second half for a 69-58 win over the Bears.

“Both teams struggled in the first half,” coach Bob Huggins said. “It didn’t look like anybody could make one.”

But later on, the Mountaineers received contributions from all 11 players who appeared in the game.

“Today was kind of like we always do, you never know who is going to make plays but somebody generally does,” Huggins said.

West Virginia, which holds the No. 10 ranking in the country and could move up a spot early next week, finished the regular season with a 27-5 record, including a 13-5 mark in the Big 12, arguably the toughest conference in the country.
