The Mountaineers fell to the Red Raiders, 8-5. Texas Tech got on the board in the bottom of the first inning and the WVU baseball team responded with three in the top of the fifth inning.
The Red Raiders wouldn’t take their two-run deficit laying down and put up four in the sixth and three in the seventh. The Mountaineers put together a nice string of runs in the ninth inning, plating a pair, but it wasn’t enough to escape Lubbock with a victory.
Texas Tech stole the series, 2-1, and the two teams will not face each other again in the regular season.
