WVU Baseball: ‘Eers prepare for Backyard Brawl

It’s not as hyped as 13-9, but a Pitt versus WVU matchup is always an exciting one.

The visiting Panthers (22-27, 8-19 ACC) haven’t won in almost a week, after getting swept by N.C. State over the weekend. Freshman Chris Gomez will get the start for the Panthers, his second of the season; he’s thrown 31.0 innings and given up 17 earned runs.

The Mountaineers (30-20, 11-10 Big 12) enter the contest on a three-game winning streak after beating Penn State at PNC Park May 10 and handing Gardner-Webb two consecutive losses over the weekend.
