MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s swimming and diving team was named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American team for its work in the classroom this season.
The women’s squad finished the year with a 3.49 GPA – the highest for the program in eight years. Earlier this month, senior Jenelle Zee became the first WVU women’s swimming and diving athlete to garner Capital One Academic All-America At-Large honors. The political science major hails a 4.0 GPA and was tabbed a recipient of the Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award.
“Our women have excelled academically,” noted coach Vic Riggs.
