MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Fresh off its own Senior Night celebration, No. 10 West Virginia wades into the sendoff festivities for No. 19 Baylor on Saturday.
A win clinches second place in the Big 12. A loss, coupled with Oklahoma’s expected victory at TCU, would drop the Mountaineers (23-7, 12-5) into the third seed for next week’s conference tournament.
“We’re going to make our guys aware,” said coach Bob Huggins. “They’ll know where we are and where we can be.”
The No. 2 seed provides obvious benefits—the biggest one being that WVU’s matchup in the Big 12 quarterfinal would come against the winner of the previous night’s 7-10 game between Texas Tech and TCU.
