Williams Pacing WVU at Old Waverly

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Chris Williams sits in the top 20 after two rounds to lead the West Virginia University golf team on Monday at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship, hosted by Mississippi State at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi.

Competing for the third consecutive day, the Mountaineers shot 295-303=598 and are in 13th place at 22 over par. They wrapped up play at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Tennessee on Sunday before making their way to Mississippi.

“After a very solid opening round, it became apparent in the second round just how worn out our guys are mentally and physically,” said coach Sean Covich.
