West Virginia closed out the regular season in disappointing fashion, falling 52-15 to Texas Tech at Jones AT&T Stadium on Saturday. The Mountaineers (6-6, 5-4 Big 12) struggled to keep pace with a Red Raiders offense that scored on its first seven possessions. Texas Tech (8-4, 6-3 Big 12) overwhelmed WVU early, building a commanding 35-3 halftime lead behind 339 yards of offense and three touchdowns from running back Tahj Brooks.
The game started slow with West Virginia failing to convert on fourth down on the opening drive of the game as Garrett Greene threw the ball behind an open Hudson Clement.
