West Virginia (10-2, 1-0 Big 12) finally broke through in Lawrence, earning their first-ever victory at Allen Fieldhouse with a 62-61 win over Kansas (9-3, 0-1 Big 12). The Mountaineers never trailed, jumping out to an early lead and maintaining control for nearly the entire game. Fueled by Eduardo Andre’s inside presence and Jonathan Powell’s three-point shooting, the Mountaineers silenced the Jayhawks crowd early and took a 33-20 lead into halftime while their defense limited Kansas to just 29% shooting in the first half.
