The West Virginia Mountaineers will look to redeem themselves after last Saturday’s heartbreaking 78-75 overtime loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Mountaineers will travel to Houston, Texas on Saturday where they’ll face the undefeated Cougars, who are embarking on their inaugural season in the Big 12 conference. Houston, under the leadership of Kelvin Sampson, returned to college basketball prominence in the American Athletic Conference, consistently finishing in the Top 25 since the 2018-19 season. During that period, the Cougars made appearances in four Sweet Sixteens, two Elite Eights, and the 2021 Final Four.
WVU will once again be without Jesse Edwards, who continues to recover from a wrist injury.
