West Virginia receivers look to replace White, Alford

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — If any West Virginia football player is asked about the team’s wide receiver situation heading into the 2015 season, the word “system” will be uttered at one point or another.

How will the Mountaineers replace their two leading receivers from last season, both of whom are in the NFL and one of whom was a top-10 pick? The system. How will a pass-oriented offense function with a relatively unheralded group of receivers catching passes from a relatively new quarterback? The system.

As West Virginia copes with those questions, its retooled offense is drawing confidence from the program’s recent success in churning out productive players at skill positions.
