MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Trey Lowe, who was never able to gain traction in West Virginia’s quarterback competition, announced on Thursday that he will enter the transfer portal upon earning his undergrad degree from WVU this summer.
Lowe, who originally signed to play football and baseball for the Mountaineers, announced his plans on Twitter.
Lowe will have completed his college degree in just over two years — as impressive a feat as any he might pull on the football field at his next destination.
The lone dual-threat on West Virginia’s roster the past two seasons, Lowe saw his first action in the 2018 Camping World Bowl against Syracuse.
