Three’s company for the West Virginia basketball team. Devin Williams, Jonathan Holton and Elijah Macon all recorded double-doubles as the
Mountaineers rolled Bethune-Cookman in the WVU Coliseum on Monday night. The Mountaineers are 4-0 thus far on the young season, albeit against less-than-intriguing competition.
Still, West Virginia accomplished something it hadn’t in 21 years. It was the first time since Feb. 8, 1994 that three players produced double-doubles. Then, Marsalls Basey, Ricky Robinson and Zain Shaw accomplished the feat against a Top 10 Temple team at the Coliseum.
Against Bethune-Cookman, Williams scored 12 points with 10 rebounds (his fourth-straight double-double), Holton had 11 points with 11 rebounds and Macon added 13 points with 10 rebounds.
