MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Few, if any, would ever confuse Skyler Howard, West Virginia’s erratic quarterback who has been booed at multiple home games this season, for Pat White, arguably the greatest and most impactful player in school history.
But in his first full season as a starter, Howard has accomplished something that nobody has since White left Morgantown seven years ago. With his 73 rushing yards in a 30-6 victory Saturday against Iowa State, Howard has now run for 492 yards this season, the most for a West Virginia quarterback since White rushed for 974 as a senior in 2008.
