After going into halftime down 17-10, West Virginia suffered a second-half calamity, getting blown out 45-18 as another chance to beat a ranked team slipped away. On the surface, it looks good that we piled up 152 yards rushing against the 5th-ranked run defense in the country, nearly doubling their average allowed. For context, they’ve given up 582 rushing yards this season, and we accounted for 25% of that total.
