Your West Virginia Mountaineers will take the field Saturday wearing a uniform combination they’ve broken out a few times. The traditional blue helmets matched with the new old gold shirts and traditional blue pants were first debuted against Towson in 2014.
The game against Towson couldn’t have gone better for the Mountaineers with the first shutout for newly declared defensive coordinator Tony Gibson. The Mountaineers would once again use this uniform combination when they returned to a bowl game in 2014.
Against the Texas A&M Aggies, West Virginia wore blue-gold-blue combination. That was the first time quarterback Skyler Howard would get to wear this unique combination.
