West Virginia Football Recruiting: Florida safety Rashean Lynn commits to the Mountaineers

The West Virginia Mountaineers picked up their first official commitment of the Neal Brown era Friday afternoon as Cocoa, Florida native Rashean Lynn made it known that he wants to be a Mountaineer.

Announcing his commitment via Twitter, Lynn chose the Mountaineers over offers from the Louisville Cardinals, Oregon Ducks, Indiana Hoosiers and more. New West Virginia defensive coordinator Vic Koenning served as the lead recruiter for Lynn, with the two already knowing each other from Koenning’s time at Troy.

Lynn was a two-way standout for Cocoa Tigers, and although he’s listed as a three-star wide receiver by the recruiting services, the Mountaineers project to use him as a safety in Koenning’s shape-shifting defense.
