During his regular media availability this week, WVU head coach Neal Brown responded to a question about what he would say to fans disappointed with WVU’s performance against Iowa State in the inaugural “Coal Rush” game in a way that was less than helpful for a head coach who has gained many detractors among the fan base.

I agree with people who are way smarter than me that it’s very clear Brown was trying to say something else here—something about wanting to make sure fans had an enjoyable experience overall—but man, does he not do himself any favors.
