West Virginia (1-1) started strong in their 49-14 victory over the No. 16 (FCS) Albany Great Danes (1-1) on Saturday night in Morgantown, jumping out to a 21-0 lead early.
Jahiem White’s 14-yard touchdown run opened the scoring on the first drive of the game, followed by Greene’s touchdown passes to Justin Robinson and Kole Taylor.
The Mountaineers had some hiccups in the second quarter, going three-and-out on a drive and followed it up with a Jaheim White fumble on the first play of the ensuing drive, allowing the Great Danes to find some life.
Despite Albany cutting the lead to 21-14 with two quick scores after a fumble, the Mountaineers quickly regained control with a 75-yard drive, capped by Greene’s 40-yard run to extend the lead to 28-14 heading into the half.
