West Virginia (6-5, 5-3 Big 12) put together one of their better performances of the season this afternoon in their home finale, securing a 31-21 win over UCF (4-7, 2-6 Big 12) to reach bowl eligibility. The Mountaineers raced to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter behind a pair of rushing touchdowns, first from CJ Donaldson and later from Jahiem White, after a fumble recovery by Dontez Fagan. Garrett Greene put together another scoring before halftime, connecting with Hudson Clement three times to set up a perfectly placed touchdown pass to Rodney Gallagher, sending the Mountaineers into the locker room with a 21-7 lead.
