The Mountaineers (3-2) started off slow against the Lady Flames (3-3), as sophomore Carolina Lewis and freshman Paula Goetz fell to Liberty’s Anna Dollar and Maria Khval, 6-2, on court two. Down 1-0 in doubles scoring, West Virginia picked up the pace at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, as the team won back-to-back matches to claim the one-point advantage.
At court one, senior Hailey Barrett and sophomore Habiba Shaker won their fifth consecutive doubles match of the season, as they bested Liberty’s Evangeline Crist and Valerie Thong by a score of 6-2.
