According to a report from 247Sports’ Chris Anderson, West Virginia Mountaineers defensive tackle Tyrese Allen has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
While the move doesn’t officially mean Allen is leaving the Mountaineer program, it does signal to other universities that the redshirt freshman is open to transferring and allows other coaches to contact him without violating any NCAA tampering rules. Should Allen decide to change his mind, he can rejoin the West Virginia program without penalty — provided head coach Neal Brown invites him back to the team and his scholarship has not been discontinued.
