Skyler Howard’s 7-yard touchdown pass to Jovon Durante with 6:11 left in the fourth quarter capped a 13-point comeback to give West Virginia a 17-16 victory over Kansas State late Saturday afternoon at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 13-0 halftime leading, but West Virginia responded with two second-half touchdowns, the other coming on a 1-yard run by Justin Crawford, and a Josh Lambert 37-yard field goal.
Following Durante’s TD catch, Kansas State drove the ball to the West Virginia 27 where Matthew McCrane failed to convert a 37-yard field goal to take the lead.
