MOREHEAD, Ky. – Darius Hill’s three-run homer in the top of the first set the tone as West Virginia rolled to its fifth-straight win by beating host Morehead State 9-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
Hill wasn’t the only Mountaineer to send one over the fence. Paul McIntosh deposited a solo shot to right-center in the fifth, and Trey Doanes continued his hot streak with a two-run homer to right in the eighth inning.
Doanes has homered in consecutive games, and displayed power to all fields in the process. The sophomore second baseman pulled one out to left against Kent State on Sunday, then went to the opposite field for his home run on Tuesday.
