Thrasher to be Honored at Missouri Game

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Olympic Gold medalist and West Virginia University sophomore Ginny Thrasher will be honored in front of 60,000 fans at the WVU-Missouri Gold Rush game on Saturday, Sept. 3, at Milan Puskar Stadium.

Thrasher, along with WVU women’s soccer seniors and Bronze medalists Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence, will be recognized at halftime during the Pride of West Virginia Mountaineer Marching Band’s performance.

All three medalists enjoyed much success while competing at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games, with Thrasher, a native of Springfield, Virginia, earning the first Gold medal awarded, and Buchanan and Lawrence helping Canada secure its second straight Bronze medal.
