WVU WINS BACKYARD BRAWL
In front of a packed house of over 1,300 rowdy fans at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown, the West Virginia men’s soccer team upset #3 Pitt, 2-1. Both teams came into the match with 1-0 records, but the Mountaineers were the only ones who left undefeated in the 50th edition of the men’s soccer Backyard Brawl.
Midway through the first half junior midfielder Luke McCormick scored the opening goal of the game and WVU went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
