NEW YORK — Jaysean Paige thought the Mountaineers “had that game where we wanted it,” and even Tony Bennett was a worried Wahoo throughout the first half.
All that flipped in the second half, however, when No. 10 Virginia did what it wanted at the pace it wanted and buried No. 14 West Virginia 70-54.
“They’re known for playing pack-line defense, but we didn’t hit shots tonight so it gave them a better reason to pack the lane,” said Paige, whose 16 points were the highlight for WVU.
Speaking of highlights, we cue them up in the Gold & Blue Lunch Report, where we still get a rush from hearing Jimmy V at the mic.
