MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Worried about an 0-2 start in Big 12 play draining the juice from West Virginia’s season?
Former offensive lineman Jeff Braun says remember 2010 (when the Mountaineers opened 1-2 in the league) and 2011 (when double-digit underdogs Syracuse and Louisville upset WVU). During both seasons, West Virginia won out to share the Big East title.
“I remember losing to Louisville that year and thinking that we were done,” Braun said. “At some point it crosses your mind, what’s left to play for? You work so hard and all you hear is ‘conference championship’ and then those dreams are kind of washed away.
