The finish line to the 2016 college basketball regular season is within sight and West Virginia University coach Bob Huggins says his guys can clearly see it.
“This is the time of the year when seemingly everyone gets excited,” Huggins said via teleconference earlier today. “I think the fans get more excited. The players get more excited.
“Now that we’re done playing football into March, it takes people a while to get tuned in to basketball,” he joked.
There is certainly a lot to be excited about in Morgantown these days, the 14th-ranked Mountaineers playing for a high seeding in this year’s Big 12 tournament taking place in Kansas City and then the NCAA tournament coming up in mid-March.
