So I was mowing my lawn yesterday listening to WVU’s baseball game against Morehead State and thinking about how much better out baseball team has become.
Since I grew up in the city of Morgantown, I remember the old days of Mountaineer baseball in cruddy Hawley Field watching guys like David Carpenter, Tyler Kuhn, Vince Belnome and Jedd Gyorko lead WVU to some sub-.500 record in and awful Big East Conference. One of the 200 or so that would show up would always yell “Ding It Out!” whenever the Mountaineers would come to the plate. It was a much more humble time for the program because, honestly, we were bad an nobody cared.
