Star guards Carter, Morris match once more in Big 12 tournament final

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Six words were all he said.

Jevon Carter, the catalyst of West Virginia's stifling defense, sat in the winning locker room on Friday night after the Mountaineers’ 51-50 decision over Kansas State in the semifinals of the Big 12 tournament and searched for energy after his team somehow advanced in spite of shooting 26.7 percent.

Up next on Saturday (6 p.m. ET, ESPN), West Virginia takes aim at Iowa State, which features first-team All-Big 12 point guard Monte Morris -- the best player here through three days -- as the leader of an offense that has sizzled since the moment the Cyclones stepped into the Sprint Center this week.
