Sooners sweep up late, bury West Virginia 76-62

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Buddy Hield scored 29 points and No. 3 Oklahoma outworked the Big 12’s top rebounding team to grab a 76-62 win at No. 10 West Virginia.

Guard Isaiah Cousins added 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists as the Sooners (21-6, 9-5) swept the season series by pulling away over the final eight minutes.

Tarik Phillip scored 17 off the bench and Jaysean Paige chipped in 13 to pace West Virginia (20-7, 9-5), which suffered its second home loss of the season and slipped two games back of league leader Kansas.

The Mountaineers entered with a plus-9 rebounding margin but were outboarded 48-37.
