Some of West Virginia's goals this football season remain quite reachable

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Four losses in October came with an immense physical toll for West Virginia, from injuries to key players to the travel demands of three trips to places such as Norman, Okla., and Waco, Texas.

For all the Mountaineers endured, the lasting psychological and emotional impact of those defeats remained a concern. But, if their wins against Texas Tech and Texas the past two weeks proved anything, it was their ability to bounce back from extended and somewhat unexpected setbacks.

“I don’t want to say we were down, but I guess that’s the word to use,” senior linebacker Jared Barber said.
