Nick Snyder was absolutely dominant on the mound tonight as he completely shut down the Thundering Herd offense en route to a complete game shutout, and nearly a no-hitter.
With 8.2 no-hit innings under his belt, the crowd at Monongalia County Ballpark was up on their feet and ready to celebrate the first WVU no-hitter in nearly 20 years. Unfortunately, Marshall’s CF Erik Rodriguez slapped a bouncing ball to the right of 2B Tyler Doanes, who couldn’t quite get enough on the throw to get Rodriguez out.
After the chance at the no-no was gone, Snyder fell behind DH Zach Inskeep, the tying run, 3-0 before forcing him into a fly out to RF Darius Hill to end it.
