A program-high seven student-athletes earned conference academic accolades for the fourth straight season.
“I am really proud of this team. They have been very focused on academics, and they’re doing their jobs, which helps us focus on our gymnastics, too,” Mountaineer coach Jason Butts said. “Not only are they natural competitors in the sport of gymnastics, but they’re also competitive in the classroom. They want to be the best they can in all facets of life, and they’re really knocking it out of the park this season.”
Six Mountaineers were named to the first team. Senior Brooklyn Doggette (child development & family studies) and juniors Robyn Bernard (exercise physiology) and Jordan Gillette (exercise physiology) collected their second career honors, while senior Alexa Goldberg (athletic coaching education) earned her second career academic award and first first-team recognition.
