MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University men’s soccer junior goalkeeper Jose Santos has been named the Player of the Week by the Mid-American Conference (MAC) on Tuesday.
Santos, who has led the Mountaineers (6-1-1) to a school-record seven consecutive shutouts, earned his first MAC weekly accolade of his career and is the first honoree for WVU this season.
A Marrero, Louisiana, native, Santos has not allowed a goal in more than 705 minutes and posted a pair of shutout wins last week. He made a career-best seven saves in WVU’s 3-0 win against American on Sept.
