“We put our team in a challenging position this weekend, which proved to be a bit much to overcome,” said coach Jimmy King. “Despite today’s results, I’m pleased with the racing effort by our crews. Our focus now will be on much needed recovery, both physical and mental, as we progress through exam week and onto the Big 12 Championships.”
In the Second Varsity Eight race, led by coxswain Brittany James, West Virginia finished fifth in the Petite Final and 11th overall with a time of 7:42.094. The Mountaineers also placed sixth in the Varsity Eight Petite Final and 12th overall with a time of 7:39.
