"The Mountaineer Mantrip is an important part of the gameday experience at Milan Puskar Stadium," said Matt Wells, WVU Associate Director of Athletics/External Relations. "We felt it was very important to adjust the Mantrip route while construction is taking place this season so our fans could continue to greet the team as they arrive at the Stadium."
The walk, a nod to the state’s proud coal industry and heritage, will begin this year when the team is dropped off along Don Nehlen Drive at the southern-most entrance to the Light Blue Lot. The band and cheerleaders will continue to lead the team along the Mountaineer Mantrip route through the Light Blue Lot to the East Gate of Milan Puskar Stadium.
