MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team was well represented at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Fort Benning World Cup, which wrapped up after six days of competition on May 18, in Fort Benning, Georgia.
Of the current Mountaineers who shot at the competition, rising redshirt-senior Meelis Kiisk had the best finish, placing 26th in the men’s 10m air rifle on May 13. The Paide, Estonia, native, shot 620.2 in the first qualification relay. Kiisk also finished 33rd in the men’s 50m rifle prone on May 14, shooting 611.6 in the second elimination relay, and 45th in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions, shooting 1152 in the first elimination relay on May 17 and 1159 in the qualification competition on May 18.
