Rushel’s story is similar to that of A.B. Brown and Eugene Napoleon a couple decades ago. Both were looking for fresh starts to their collegiate careers and found it in Morgantown. Both were members of WVU’s undefeated, untied team that played in the 1989 national championship game against Notre Dame; Brown even spent a little time in the National Football League with the New York Jets, so their decisions to transfer to West Virginia turned out well for them.
Shell was seeking a similar fresh start in the spring of 2013 when he decided to part ways with Pitt.
