SPOKANE, Wash. — After West Virginia erased a 17-point halftime deficit, Gonzaga’s Laura Stockton led an 8-0 closing run that lifted the Bulldogs to a 62-57 win Sunday at the Hall of Fame Challenge.
Bria Holmes scored a game-high 19 points, including a 3 that staked West Virginia (2-1) to a 57-54 lead with 3:15 left. From there the Mountaineers missed their final five shots and committed a costly turnover.
The daughter of NBA legend John Stockton scored 14 points for Gonzaga (3-1), which also got 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench from Jill Barta.
