According to Bruce Feldman, prodigal son and Faux Holgorsen favorite Jake Spavital will return to West Virginia in the role of offensive coordinator. Less than a week after being promoted to interim head coach at Cal following the firing of head coach Sonny Dykes, Spavital has returned to WVU. Jake was offensive coordinator at Cal and remained productive on offense despite the loss of Jared Goff and its top six receivers. The Golden Bears averaged more than 37 points per game under Jake.
Spavital and WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen have been linked since both joined the staff at Houston under then head coach Kevin Sumlin.
