MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Seven players scored in double figures and West Virginia’s press forced 30 turnovers during a 97-44 rout of Bethune-Cookman on Monday night.
Daxter Miles Jr. and Jaysean Paige scored 14 each to pace West Virginia (4-0), which never trailed and improved to 15-0 all-time against the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Devin Williams added 12 points and 10 rebounds, his fourth consecutive double-double.
Elijah Macon grabbed 10 rebounds and scored all of his 13 points in the second half, helping the Mountaineers to a 54-12 scoring edge in the paint.
Reserve guard Josue Salaam finished with 12 points for Bethune-Cookman (2-2), but leading scorer Jordan Potts committed seven turnovers and fouled after shooting 1-of-8 for six points, 13 below his season average.
