Pokes’ defensive strengths replicate WVU’s struggles in loss

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The points of concern after the Oklahoma loss will only be amplified as No. 21 Oklahoma State visits West Virginia this week.

“If you look back at what our issues were against Oklahoma … they were protection in the pass game and tackles for loss in the run game,” Mountaineers coach Dana Holgorsen said. “Well, you’ve got an Oklahoma State team coming to town that leads the country in sacks and leads the country in tackles for loss.”

As teaching points go, that’s an awfully direct follow-up.

“I don’t know how I feel about that as a coach,” Holgorsen joked.
